Disasters are hard for anyone, but can be especially difficult for people with disabilities or special needs. The Southwest Utah Public Health Department (SWUPHD) invites you to be part of a new coalition that will increase emergency preparedness for people with “Access and Functional Needs” (AFN).
The role of the AFN Coalition is to identify the needs of individuals with disabilities and others with access and functional needs before, during, and after disasters; and to integrate them into the emergency plans held by both businesses and individual families.
Objective 1: Identify what are the needs of those with AFN in a disaster?
Objective 2: How to best integrate AFN in plans for facilities and individuals and also responders?
Please join our efforts to care for those who would be the most vulnerable in an emergency! Our next meeting will be held on:
Wednesday, March 28 (10:00 – 11:00 am)
SWUPHD St. George office (620 S. 400 E.)
4th floor conference room
