This position assists in planning and coordinating with agencies, organizations, families and individuals to meet the needs of those with disabilities in the event of an emergency or disaster. You would be writing plans, providing training, evaluating independence needs, supervision and transportation needs of those who have disabilities or are vulnerable in an emergency or disaster. Perform outreach through collaboration in person or through social media to partners, families and individuals to assist Southwest Utah Public Health Department with planning and response actions. Assist in promoting, organizing and chairing the existing Access and Functional Needs (AFN) coalition/group.
This is a part-time, grant funded position and is funded for next 6 years. No benefits will be offered.
A normal work week would consist of 10 hours which are flexible.
- Two years of college AND Experience focused on policy and / or working with those disabled OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a driver’s license
- Preference may be given to a parent or family member of an individual with a disability or access and functional needs.
