Questions About Diabetes & Nutrition?
The Southwest Utah Public Health Department (SWUPHD) will be hosting its monthly Diabetes and Prediabetes Community Forum on Thursday, July 11th (6pm) at its St. George office.
This month’s topic will be the role nutrition plays in the development and treatment of diabetes. You’ll learn how food influences blood sugar levels and how to prepare meals that support diabetes control. The presenter will be Mallory Spendlove, RDN, CD. A question and answer session will follow.
Mallory is a Registered Dietitian and Project Coordinator for the SWUPHD and has been trained in diabetes and heart disease education. She has presented nearly 100 times on self-improvement and nutrition to a wide range of audiences. Her clinical experience includes providing one-on-one and group nutritional consultations in hospital, community, and long-term care settings.
The setting is informal and all are welcome. The Health Department will continue to hold the forum on the second Thursday of each month.
